A NEW YORK TALE OF DIS-ORGANIZED CRIME! Four young women, crammed into a small Manhattan apartment, all with dead end jobs (or no jobs at all) and overdue rent. They discover cash and self esteem when they set up an illegal bookie joint in their kitchen. Suddenly they can pay bills and dream about the future. But boys, moms, the police, the New York summer heat and other uncontrollables get in the way of anything going as planned. Distraught over losing her mother, Leila moves in with three of her twenty-something friends in Manhattan. When funds get tight, they stumble upon financial success when they set up an illegal bookie den in their apartment. The money coming in only solves some of their problems as they still have to deal with loss and, of course, the men in their life, who are good for nothing except for developing Marlon Brando obsessions.
